Lead Partner

HCN-logo-145w.png is the Lead Partner of EUREGIO III project. It is a non-profit interregional organisation run by its partner regions. From its first phase as an Interreg IIIC operation it seeks to maximise the contribution of regional health sector investments to regional economic growth and social cohesion.  To achieve this, Health ClusterNET seeks to identify and provide practical ‘how-to’ knowledge for members based on sharing experience and learning among regions.  The focus for this knowledge sharing is how regional health systems can contribute to sustainable regional development through local procurement, inclusive employment, affordable capital investment and health innovations. This is a critical challenge at a time when the financial climate has become more fragile and will impact on the use of Structural Funds and the effectiveness and sustainability of investment in public services, including health care.

The main aim of Health ClusterNet

The aim of HCN is to inform the contribution of health sector investment to achieving sustainable regional development and ensuring quality of life by sharing practical “how-to” knowledge and innovative solutions between members and stakeholders. Achieving this is informed by understanding the different development priorities and capacity of member regions.

Objectives

  • Support regions to build appropriate capacity that enables health sector investment to contribute to regional economic and social development

  • Facilitate the sharing of examples of policy development and good practice relevant to five HCN knowledge themes (maximising health gain from Structural Funds; local procurement; inclusive employment; affordable capital investment; health innovations market engegement)

  • Support regional goverments to increase engagement with their own regional and local health systems strengthening regional policy and integrated planning

  • Provide expert advice to regions and facilitate exchange of expertise between regions

  • Enable access to and provide appropriate policy, planning and performance measurement tools

  • Influence relevant policies and other instruments at regional/local and EC levels based on insights developed by HCN and associated initiatives

  • Improve understanding how health sector investment can contribute to regional development through spin-off member-led projects, HCN-led projects and partnership initiatives with other key stakeholders
